Frozen in Time is Ward’s first collectible sculpture, exploring time as the unseen force that shapes both the Earth and ourselves.

Building on his functional art collection, Formed by Heat and Pressure, which examined how minerals are created through volcanic heat and tectonic pressure, this piece completes the story by introducing time, the quiet catalyst behind transformation.

The sculpture captures a moment suspended between movement and stillness. Two textured glass plates, reminiscent of tectonic plates, hold a quartz crystal delicately frozen within a transparent pocket. Quartz, often used in watches, symbolizes the connection between nature’s rhythms and human precision.

 

Just as crystals form under immense pressure over millions of years, we too are shaped by time and experience.
